Our Purpose and Values
By the grace of God we are
- Captivated by Christ
- Compelled by his love
- Committed to serve a changing world
Captivated by Christ
“...that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow... and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” (Philippians 2:10-11)
Drawn to the person, teaching, and work of Jesus, filled with wonder and awe at his great love for us, we seek to keep Jesus central in all we do.
Compelled by his love
“For Christ’s love compels us...”
(2 Corinthians 5:14)
Desiring the same attitude as Jesus, who humbled himself as servant of all, we open our doors to the community: our arms to welcome, our ears to listen, our hands to serve, our hearts to love.
Committed to serve a changing world
“You will be my witnesses...”
(Acts 1:8)
Obeying God, who sends us in the power of the Holy Spirit to a world marked by rapid demographic, technological, and religious change, where Christianity no longer has a privileged position, we go as ambassadors for Christ, to where we live, work, and play, and to the ends of the earth, to share the good news of the kingdom of God, to invite everyone into the joy of a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Vision
Sharing Christ and his kingdom by serving a changing world, beginning in Richfield...
Our Core Practices
Worship: God desires that we glorify and enjoy him forever.
As we gather for worship, we seek to:
- glorify God with integrity, reverence, and joy;
- find opportunities for all to express their love for God;
- experience the unity of Christ’s kingdom across boundaries of ethnicity, race, language, age, and social status.
Spiritual Formation: God wants us to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
As we practice spiritual formation, we seek to:
- understand Christ and his kingdom more fully through faithful Bible study;
- attain deeper discernment of the Spirit’s movement through Christian education, fellowship, and service;
- grow in intimacy with God through the Christian spiritual disciplines such as prayer, fasting, study, service, etc.
Outward Engagement: God sends us into the world.
As we engage the communities beyond our three campuses, we seek to:
- go into the world with listening ears, faithful hearts, and bold spirits;
- engage our spheres of influence and beyond, inviting all people to know Christ and his kingdom;
- serve human needs within our local communities and the world.
Hospitality: God has placed us where we are for a reason.
As we practice hospitality, we seek to:
- provide appropriate welcome to the diverse people on our campuses, gladly embracing persons of any ethnicity, race, language, age, or social status;
- make our three campuses places of fellowship, love, and joy;
- encourage ministries of comfort and assistance.
