Our goal is to minister to men, and through men, and to encourage and empower them to become better spiritual leaders in their homes, our church, our communities, and for the Kingdom of God.

We encourage the men of Hope to continually use the events we hold to invite their friends, co-workers, and neighbors to meet with us and God in these more informal settings.

During each year M in M hold several events which provide fellowship, equipping, and service opportunities.

2008 Calendar of Events

January: Father Son & Daughter Banquet
This year’s banquet will be on Saturday, January 19, 2008, in Social Events beginning at 5:50 PM. Our speaker will be Chris Carr, a former player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for students with and immediate family maximum of $25

March: Bowling Event
This year’s event will be held on March 8, 2008, from Noon to 3 PM at Lariat Lanes in Richfield. Cost is $20. There is a limit of 72 bowlers for this event so sign up early. Tickets will go on sale in February.

April/May: Service Project/Work Days
We annually hold one or two service projects around the Hope and/or Oliver campuses. Details of those opportunities will be announced via the bulletin and Hope Alive

June: Father’s Day Men’s Chorus
This year Father’s Day is Sunday, June 15, 2008. We welcome all men to join us, regardless of your musical abilities. On that day we practice for ½ hour before each of the two worship services and then stand united in singing praises in front of the congregation during the worship service. It doesn’t get any easier than this and it is a blast to hear 75 – 100 men singing God’s praise.

July: Fishing on Mille Lacs
The Men's Ministry team would like to announce its first ever Men's Fishing Event. If you have an interest in Fishing, Fun and Fellowship please consider attending this event. It really does not matter if you have experience fishing or not as we will be going out on a launch which includes rods and reels, bait, tackle, everything!

The Fishing event will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 - Saturday, July 19 wrapping up around 1:00pm. The location will be McQuoids Inn located on Lake Mille Lacs. The cost for lodging, meals, snacks, fishing and fun will be $130 each. We have included McQuoids web-site:

The tentative schedule will look something like this:
- Arrive at McQuoids Inn at 3:00 on Friday. We will likely meet at Hope Friday for car pools leaving at 12:00 noon sharp.
- We will have an early dinner starting at 4:30pm.
- Fishing, Fun and Fellowship on a launch will run from 6:00pm - 10:00pm.
- We will have some snacks and a devotion around 10:30pm.
- On Saturday a light breakfast and another round of Fishing, Fun and Fellowship on the launch from 8:00 - 12:00.
- Wrap-up and head for home around 1:00pm Saturday.

Because we need a commitment by April 15 we need to know how many of you fishermen and non-fishermen would like to attend this event as soon as possible. September: Hope Golf Tournament
This year’s tournament date is TBD but it usually falls mid-September. It is held at Crystal Lake GC in Lakeville, MN. Over the past several years the tournament has raised thousands of dollars which have been donated to Hope’s Youth Ministry, Time for Tots, and have allowed Men’s Ministry to provide scholarships for M in M events, and keep the costs down on other events.

October: Annual Men’s Retreat at Camp Ojibway
The dates of 2008’s retreat are TBD. Every year we have between 50 – 70 men join in the great weekend of fun, fellowship, and Christian growth,

November: Men’s Breakfast
Traditionally, M in M will have one or two Saturday morning breakfast where we offer some ministry or educational opportunities. These are always great events to bring friends, co-workers, and neighbors to meet with us in a very informal setting.
