Worship Through Music

Get Involved in a Music Group at Hope!
If you've been considering getting off of the sidelines and into the game, I encourage you to get involved in one of Hope's musical groups. Here are six groups for your prayerful consideration:

Sanctuary Choir

Description: Lead worship by singing traditional choral music.
Skills required: Singing in tune, some music reading skills.
Time required: Weekly Wednesday rehearsals from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday morning 8:00 a.m. pre-service rehearsal and 8:30 a.m. Traditional service (done at 9:30 a.m.).
Ages: High school and adults

Rehearsals begin on September 10th in Adult Choir Room (H004).

Singers of Hope
Description: Lead worship by singing or playing a variety of musical styles (traditional, historic, classical, contemporary, etc.) in this auditioned ensemble.
Skills required: Strong vocal or instrumental skills. Must be able to read music and learn music quickly.
Time required: Weekly Wednesday rehearsals from 8:10 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday morning 9:00 a.m. pre-service rehearsal and 9:45 Convergent service.
Ages: Adults

Praise Band

Description: Lead worship by singing or playing instrument in band.
Skills required: Strong spiritual motivation, humble spirit, strong vocal or instrumental skills, and ability to read music or play by ear.
Time required: Weekly Wednesday rehearsals from 8:45-10:00 p.m. Sunday morning 10:00 a.m. pre-service rehearsal and 11:05 a.m. service.

Children’s Praise Choir and Children’s Chimes Choir

For Children in Grades 2-6
Rehearsals on Sundays at 9:00 a.m. in C346 (Sunday School Music Room).
Children’s Chimes Choir (instrumental) directed by Bonnie Kittell
Children’s Praise Choir (vocal) directed by Courtney Hubers
You can be in one or both groups (as they will be on alternating schedule.) Watch for details about these groups in the coming weeks in the Sunday bulletin.

Hope Orchestra
Description: Lead worship by playing instrument (brass, strings or woodwind) in instrumental ensemble.
Skills required: Music reading skills.
Time Required: Once rehearsal/month, usually on Sundays after the Contemporary service at 12:10 p.m. in the Adult Choir Room (H004).
Ages: High school and adults
